Cebu Pacific flies 26.9m passengers

Cebu Pacific passenger traffic rose 10 percent in 2025 despite supply chain disruptions and global geopolitical tensions, the Gokongwei-led airline said Thursday.

The carrier flew 26.9 million domestic and international passengers last year, up from 24.5 million passengers in 2024. Domestic traffic grew 8.1 percent to 20 million, while international passenger numbers climbed 14 percent to 6.9 million.

The airline said its overall seat capacity increased 10 percent to 32 million, but its seat load factor (SLF) edged down to 84 percent from 84.4 percent in 2024.

It said that in December, the airline carried more than 2.7 million passengers, marking a 5.1-percent increase from the same month in 2024 and representing its highest-ever monthly total.

Monthly seat capacity grew 6.9 percent, while the overall SLF decreased to 83.8 percent from 85.2 percent a year earlier.

Domestic passengers in December increased 4.5 percent year-on-year on 4.5 percent higher seat capacity, resulting in a domestic SLF of 85.5 percent.

International passenger traffic for the month rose 6.6 percent, but a 13.6 percent jump in seat capacity brought the international SLF down by 5.2 percentage points to 79.4 percent.

Cebu Pacific chief executive Mike Szucs said the company concluded the year on a strong note despite fleet reliability issues and wider industry challenges.

Szucs said the record numbers underscore the strength of the low-cost model and operational agility.

The airline expects to maintain similar growth levels in 2026, supported by the delivery of seven new aircraft.

Cebu Pacific, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, operates a fleet of 100 aircraft and serves 37 domestic and 26 international destinations.
