The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is accelerating operational improvements to manage rising passenger volumes at major hubs following a record-breaking year for commuter traffic at the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).
Total foot traffic at PITX reached 60,281,330 in 2025, reflecting an increase of 9,108,635 commuters compared to 51,557,965 recorded in 2024.
The terminal served 5,692,840 passengers in December, with 3,431,341 of those recorded during the peak Christmas and New Year period.
DOTr Secretary Giovanni Lopez said the agency remains committed to ensuring that terminals could safely and efficiently accommodate rising demand.
He said the DOTr and PITX are fully prepared for the continued influx of travelers.
“We will ensure that there is an adequate supply of buses and smooth operations at PITX, while also strengthening security for a smoother journey for our passengers,” Lopez said.
