Aboitiz Foods advances shared growth through PH, China community initiatives

Aboitiz Foods closed the year with a series of community initiatives in the Philippines and China, underscoring its commitment to sustainably feeding Asia’s growth from mill to meal through shared progress.

Through its producer brands Pilmico and Gold Coin, the company addressed priority community needs in food security, health, and social inclusion while strengthening local partnerships in its host communities.

“As we end the year, we are reminded that our role as a food and agribusiness company goes beyond the food value chain. Together we nourish the future by uplifting communities, empowering people, and building trust wherever we operate. When communities thrive, our business becomes stronger, more resilient, and more relevant across the region,” said Aboitiz Foods vice president for brand and reputation management and agribusiness marketing Joeben Gamatero.

In the Philippines, Aboitiz Foods, through Pilmico Foods Corporation and Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corporation, rolled out outreach programs supporting vulnerable groups and host communities.

On December 13, 35 Aboitiz Foods employees assisted 50 Badjao students from Presbyterian Christian Academy and extended support to 50 pediatric patients and 50 newborns with their mothers at Gregorio T. Lluch Memorial Hospital in Iligan City, distributing food items, school supplies, hygiene kits, and holiday care packages.

Earlier, Aboitiz Foods, together with Aboitiz Foundation, Aboitiz Power, and the Department of Education, turned over solar-powered classrooms, Starlink internet connectivity, and digital learning tools to five last-mile schools under the AuroraPH program, while separate activities in Tarlac and Nueva Ecija reached nearly 900 residents across six communities near its operations.

In China, Aboitiz Foods, through Gold Coin China–Guangxi, conducted a community outreach program on December 6 for elderly residents of Dongshan Town in Yunnan Province.

The initiative provided care packages containing rice and cooking oil to 145 elderly individuals, including persons with disabilities, with supplies sourced locally in coordination with village committees to support both immediate needs and the local economy.

Through its corporate social responsibility programs, Aboitiz Foods brings its brand promise to life while contributing to key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-Being, Reduced Inequalities, and Sustainable Cities and Communities.
