Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP), the country’s leading automotive manufacturer and distributor, was recently recognized by the City Government of Santa Rosa for its outstanding contributions to economic growth and environmental stewardship.
At the annual “Lion Awards,” held at the Santa Rosa Multipurpose Complex, TMP received multiple distinctions, including the coveted “Hall of Famer Award” among the “Top Business Taxpayers,” a “Top Manufacturer Award” and a “Top Real Property Taxpayer – Company Category Award.”
According to city records, TMP was the top revenue contributor to Santa Rosa with total taxes and fees amounting to P1.16 billion in 2024 — a significant boost to the city’s fiscal performance.
Santa Rosa City Mayor Arlene Arcillas lauded TMP and other awardees, noting that the city is one of the largest contributors to the Philippines’ Gross Domestic Product (GDP). She emphasized the crucial role of businesses and individuals in sustaining Santa Rosa’s rapid growth and its contribution to the national economy.
Toyota’s impact in Santa Rosa extends beyond TMP alone. Its wholly owned logistics arm, Toyota Motor Philippines Logistics, Inc. (TLI), and its franchised dealership, Toyota Santa Rosa, Laguna, Inc. (TSR), were also honored at the Lion Awards, underscoring the broader Toyota network’s contribution to the city’s economic strength.
“This recognition is not only for our company, but for the entire Toyota community here in Santa Rosa, including our customers, team members, suppliers, dealer, business partners, immediate community, and all the families whose lives we share and touch every day,” said Dennis Ben-Hur Escuro, TMP senior vice president for Treasury & Comptrollership, in his acceptance speech for the “Hall of Famer Award.”
Beyond economic performance, Toyota was also recognized in the 2025 “Green Awards,” where it was named a “Sustainable Development Partner” and “Earth Hour Advocate.” These honors highlight TMP’s strong commitment to responsible business practices, environmental stewardship and social development.
As administrator of the 32-hectare Toyota Special Economic Zone (TSEZ) in Santa Rosa, TMP ensures sustainable consumption and production practices while promoting environmentally responsible mobility solutions for the country.
Since relocating its operations from Bicutan to Santa Rosa in 1997, TMP has grown its employment to more than 4,000 and helped establish the city as the automotive capital of the Philippines. Through TLI, TMP supports Toyota’s global supply chain, allowing the Toyota Group of export suppliers to contribute about 29 percent of the Philippines’ total annual exports of OEM parts and components.
TMP also promotes skills development through the Toyota Motor Philippines School of Technology (TMP Tech), which has become a leading technical-vocational training hub for highly skilled automotive professionals, serving both local and global Toyota networks.
