Business group supports gov’t infra development

The Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) said Tuesday it fully supports the government’s infrastructure development initiatives to address the country’s long-standing infrastructure gaps.

“We firmly believe that vital transport infrastructure projects geared towards national development will open opportunities for more investments which will help spur economic growth,” the group said in a statement.

One such vital project currently underway is the connection between the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road and the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3.

This critical infrastructure will significantly enhance connectivity between northern and southern provinces, cutting travel time for people, goods and services and thereby stimulating economic activity.

The project will also enable seamless access between major gateways such as the NAIA and Clark airports, and the ports of Bataan, Manila, and Batangas—boosting business efficiency and unlocking tourism potential.

The logistics sector, in particular, will benefit from 24/7 truck access to the road, free from truck ban restrictions.

The alternative route is expected to ease congestion on key Metro Manila thoroughfares, including España Boulevard, Quezon Avenue, Lacson Avenue, Magsaysay Boulevard and Quirino Avenue.

“We strongly urge the government, and the parties involved to fast-track the completion of this project and other vital infrastructure developments for nation-building,” the MAP said.
