FFCCCII to host ASEAN-Chinese business summit

The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) will host the ASEAN-Chinese Business Leaders Summit in Metro Manila from Oct. 18 to 20 to leverage the 2026 ASEAN Chairship of the Philippines to attract foreign direct investment and boost tourism.

FFCCCII president Victor Lim said in a statement that the event aims to position the private sector as a bridge between Southeast Asia and global markets.

The summit follows the inaugural 2025 edition in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia which drew 600 delegates and honored Charoen Pokphand Group Senior Chairman Dhanin Chearavanont with the ASEAN Honorable Business Icon Award.

“This is a golden opportunity to showcase the best of the Philippines,” Lim said.

The 3-day summit will emphasize driving foreign direct investment (FDI), expanding two-way trade and integrating micro, small and medium enterprises into regional value chains.

Lim said the timing coincides with the 5th anniversary of the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the continued implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

“As we mark the fifth anniversary of the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and harness the RCEP, our message is clear: The Philippines is open for business and ready to welcome the world,” Lim said.

The event will also serve as a platform to promote the tourism assets of the country, with delegates encouraged to explore Philippine destinations as potential investors and returning visitors.

“Every delegate is a potential tourist and a potential investor,” Lim said.

“Let us unite in extending the highest level of hospitality. This is our moment for the country to shine,” he said.
