The Philippine Chinese Charitable Association Inc. (PCCAI) celebrated its 149th founding anniversary and the induction ceremony for its 130th officers at the Chong Hock Tong Temple located in the Manila Chinese Cemetery on January 11, 2026.
The event was attended by prominent leaders from the Filipino Chinese community and officials from the Chinese Embassy.
Chairman Lu Zu Ying emphasized PCCAI’s long-standing commitment to serving the Filipino Chinese community.
Following tradition, the association held a simple ceremony to honor the founding ancestors and recognize their dedication to charity and community projects.
Lu also expressed gratitude to other Filipino Chinese associations for their support in PCCAI’s charitable initiatives.
Executive Vice Chairman and CEO Kelly Sia provided a comprehensive report on the association’s previous term.
He highlighted various projects, including funeral services, medical services, elder care, medical education, and grassroots charity medications.
Sia assured attendees that the new officers would work diligently to provide better services to society.
Chinese Ambassador Jing Quan was invited to serve as the commissioner of oaths during the ceremony.
Jing commended PCCAI for its over 100 years of service to both the Filipino Chinese community and the greater society.
He outlined three key expectations for the association: to uphold the original aspiration of public welfare and continuously set benchmarks for charitable work; to deepen cooperation with government and various sectors of society, contributing to the friendship between the Philippines and China; and to serve as a model for unity, thrift, and pragmatism among Filipino Chinese associations, promoting healthy social development.
Victor Lim, president of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), also attended the event and praised PCCAI for its pivotal role in the Filipino Chinese community.
PCCAI oversees several key institutions, including the Philippine Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center, Manila Chinese Cemetery, Overseas Chinese Nursing Homes, and PCCAI Charitable Clinic.
