Bolts replace Muhammad

The Meralco Bolts are tapping Tony Bishop as their reinforcement this coming Governors’ Cup, replacing first choice Shabazz Muhammad.

Muhammad was unavailable due to personal reasons, while the Bolts’ resident-import Allen Durham had a prior commitment in Japan.

Bishop, a national team player for Panama, previously played in Puerto Rico for Mets de Guaynabo.

The 32-year-old forward averaged 19.8 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists there.

The Bolts are seeking a revenge campaign after coming up short in the 2019 Governors’ Cup, losing to Barangay Ginebra in the finals in five games.
