MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos together with his pet “Sherman” the Great Dane, during the start of the launch of the K-9 Search and Rescue Recognition and Call for Volunteers Program at the University of the Philippines Vanguard Grounds at UP Diliman in Quezon City. The UP Vanguard trained the dogs for 12 weeks on basic obedience, agility training, and tracking. The dogs will now become MMDA volunteers and will be utilized in disaster areas for search and rescue.
