Patrimonio to run for Cainta mayor

Former Philippine Basketball Association player Alvin Patrimonio will run for mayor in Cainta under the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats party of House Majority Leader and Leyte Representative Martin Romualdez.

Patrimonio is widely regarded as a “legend” in Philippine basketball and one of the best to ever play in the professional league.

On September 30, Patrimonio, and council bets Gian Carlo Cruz and Romina Cassandra were sworn in by Romualdez at the Batasan Complex in Quezon City.

“I thank House Majority Leader Martin and the Lakas-CMD for giving us a home in the coming election. Rest assured that we are going to carry the mission of the party, which is to serve our people,” Patrimonio said.

The Lakas-CMD party produced two Presidents; Fidel V. Ramos and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Actress-singer Arci Muñoz, whose real name is Ramona Cecilia Datuin Muñoz, also joined the Lakas-CMD and will run as councilor. Veteran politicians Alma Moreno and Teri Onor, both showbiz personalities, also joined Lakas-CMD.

“We consider these dedicated public servants as assets of Lakas-CMD. Their decision to join the party is not just proof of their confidence in us but also of the party’s clean and efficient

record of public service,” Romualdez said, adding that “knowing that they are onboard makes the party and all its members and officials more inspired to keep working hard.

Aside from Cainta, Romualdez further said the party has new members from Parañaque City; Abucay and Samal in Bataan; and Cotabato, Sarangani, and Cavite provinces.

We expect to get more support in the coming months as we grow our force for the crucial May 2022 elections,” he said.
