AIA Philippines was recently recognized for two of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives at the 6th Insurance Asia Awards that fetes the best insurers from across 25 countries in the region for developing solutions and delivering exceptional value to its stakeholders.
AIA Philippines received the Insurance Initiative of the Year award for its pioneering project, the Frontliners Inclusive Risk Safety neT (FIRST) Initiative, which provided a compassionate death benefit of up to P50,000 to medical frontliners and patient-facing hospital staff from April to August 2020.
The company, through Philam Foundation Inc., its corporate social responsibility arm, also won the Education Insurance Initiative of the Year award for the development of an elective subject for graduating students called Personal Finance 101: My Peso and I. The three-unit course on financial literacy for the tertiary level was designed in partnership with six government agencies including Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Insurance Commission, and the Commission on Higher Education.
These are the company’s first awards since its rebrand to AIA Philippines last month.
