Typhoon Kiko continued to weaken as it moved over the waters off Itbayat, Batanes, the state weather bureau reported Saturday afternoon.
As of 4:00 p.m yesterday, the typhoon was reported to be moving north northwest at 15 kilometers per hour.
Weather forecasters said Batanes will continue to have stormy weather and will have possible flash floods or landslides due to heavy to intense rains.
Babuyan Islands on the other hand will have rains ang gusty winds while Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, and rest of Cagayan Valley will have monsoon rains.
Meanwhile, the number of individuals affected by the Typhoon effects of Typhoon Jolina has reached 140,444.
In its update on Saturday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said this is equivalent to 37,022 families from 891 villages in Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Soccsksargen, and the National Capital Region.
Of this number, 5,341 families or 19,778 individuals are being aided in 412 evacuation centers while the rest are taking shelter with their relatives and friends.
The agency said one was confirmed dead, along with 16 injured and seven missing.
Reports of 14 deaths, four injured and three missing are still undergoing validation.
A total of 6,575 houses were damaged by the typhoon in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, and Eastern Visayas.
Out of this figure, 6,259 were partially damaged while 316 were totally damaged.
The damage caused by Jolina to agriculture and infrastructure is so far placed at P190.9 million and P30.7 million, respectively.
