The NTC, quoting the findings of an independent auditor, said DITO’s national population coverage reached 52.75 percent and minimum average broadband speeds of 89.13 Mbps and 853.96 Mbps for all 4G and 5G sites, respectively.

DITO Tel, as part of the issuance of its certificate of public convenience and necessity in July 2019, committed to deliver national population coverage of 51.01 percent and minimum average broadband speed of 55 Mbps in the second year of its commitment period.

The third major telecom player, which started commercial operations in March, had over 2 million subscribers.  Its telecom services are available in 20 cities and municipalities nationwide.

DITO is now available in Don Carlos, Manolo Fortich, Baungon, Libona, Impasug-ong and Maramag in Bukidnon; City of Gingoog and Lugait in Misamis Oriental; San Simon, Pampanga; San Carlos City and Lingayen in Pangasinan; and Pura, Tarlac.

It is also available in Agoncillo, San Nicolas, Lian, Calatagan and Tuy in Batangas; and Magallanes in Cavite.

The company spent over P150 billion for the initial rollout of its infrastructure and other operating expenses as part of its commitment to invest P250 billion over a five-year period to achieve 55 mbps of internet speed, covering 84 percent of the population.
