What do a makeup company founder, a doctor, content creators, a lawyer/beauty queen, and many other women have in common?
Nina Ellaine Dizon considers the “biggest challenge in life” she hurdled was starting her brand from the ground up, “and at a very young age”.
“I was just in college when I started this,” shares the Colourette Cosmetics founder. Dizon started in 2013 selling scrap soaps before she ventured on making her own formula. It was called Fairness and Flawless then.
In 2015, she started selling cosmetics, and Colourette by Fairness and Flawless was born. “Literally started from the bottom, now we’re here.”
For content creator and events host Jaz Reyes, the challenge she continues to overcome is keeping things fresh. “It can be intimidating at times to go against the flow, but the rewards are definitely worth it,” she says.
To make her content stand out, she tackles socially relevant issues in a witty way.
For hyphenates like Dr. Kara Gozali, a licensed physician and content creator, a hectic schedule can be challenging.
“Balancing my work in medical school and in the hospital alongside my responsibilities as a content creator was never easy. I’m in a field where schedules are never certain and time budgeting is key. It never stopped me from achieving my goals because it actually serves as my training ground for my future practice,” she shares.
Like many, lawyer and Binibining Pilipinas-International 2019 Patch Magtanong had to overcome self-doubt. “I used to be so afraid to fail, so I never pushed my boundaries and never stepped out of my comfort zone. But this also led to me missing out on so many tremendous opportunities,” she relates.
“I learned that the only way you truly fail is if you don’t try! Now I actively seek out experiences where I may not be good at but where I see myself growing and improving,” Magtanong enthuses.
Vern Enciso recalls a similar scenario, “It was self-doubt and my low self-confidence that played a big part when it came to trying to achieve my goals.”
The dip in confidence is a reality for many women during red days, according to a feminine wash brand. Aside from low self-confidence, women can also experience things like odor, itching, and irritation.
Reyes shares, “It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re on your period. During my red days though, I make sure that I use GynePro Ultra Protection Feminine Wash which has Chlorhexidine digluconate for stronger protection against odor, itch, and irritation.”
Using the same brand has given Dr. Gozali more confidence, “and has kept me feeling clean and protected wherever I go”.
“The secret to red days is to find a way to conquer each task hassle-free; GynePro has definitely made it a breeze.”
