The Davao Occidental COCOLIFE Tigers will see action in another cage war zone, the newly established Filipino Basketball League (FILBASKET).
The reigning Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League national champion Tigers, along with other familiar powerhouse teams in the amateur/commercial cage leagues in the country, will show their wares when FILBASKET fires off hostilities in September in the National Capital Region or suburbs via a bubble setup, depending on the quarantine protocols set by the Inter”‘Agency Task Force for the Management of Infectious Diseases.
Tigers’ deputy team manager Ray Alao said veteran starters, headed by skipper Mark Yee, along with frontliners Bonbon Custodio, Billy Ray Robles, Emman Calo, Joseph Terso, Chester Saldua and Marco Balagtas will banner the campaign of the champion-caliber team, owned by Davao Occidental Governor Claude Bautista and Dumper Party List Congresswoman Claudine Bautista Lim.
New players Keith Agovida, Robby Celiz, Gab Dagangon, Chris Lalata, Jose Presbiterio, Alvin Alday, Irven Palencia and Daniel Bayla will beef up the mission of the team, supported by COCOLIFE president Atty. Jose Martin Loon, SVP Joseph Ronquillo, VP Rowena Asnan and EVP Joie Franz Araque.
“The Davao COCOLIFE Tigers will surely continue its winning tradition in the FILBASKET. Hear them roar once more,” COCOLIFE SVP Ronquillo said.
Champion coach Don Dulay will call the shots for the powerhouse team from Mindanao, assisted by mentors Manu Inigo, Matt Makalintal and Arvin Bonleon. The team is managed by Dinko Bautista, with deputy Alao and Bhong Baribar for basketball operations.
