There are around 12 teams in the National Basketball Association that are watching out for Jalen Johnson in the coming Rookie Draft.
According to US sports site tankathon.com, Johnson is expected to be picked in the top 10, specifically at no. 9 by the Sacramento Kings in the coming draft.
If not, many teams are interested in what the 6’9" Johnson has to offer, which is versatility on the floor.
A chance to prove his worth has compelled Johnson to quit college at Duke and stop playing in the middle of the US NCAA Division 1 season.
“I want to do what’s best for my family as far as when it comes down to making a decision. Now, I’m just making myself 100% ready to be in the draft, in the best version of myself,” said the 19-year-old shooting forward/power forward from Wassau, Wisconsin.
Johnson talked about his interest in joining the draft next month during a Zoom huddle with scribes at last week’s NBA Rookie Draft Combine in Chicago.
He averaged 11.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in the five games that he saw action for the Blue Devils, before deciding not to continue to play because of difficulties he felt during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“You know that I’m versatile player. I could be in multiple positions, I could play different positions on offense. There’s lots of things I could bring on the table,” added Johnson.
Johnson is considered a five-star collegiate recruit and one of the best small forwards in the 2020 class.
