The Philippine Statistics Authority and SM Supermalls have entered into a memorandum of understanding which calls for the nationwide participation of SM Supermalls in the PhilSys registration services to create easy access to the mall-going public. At the SM Aura, BGC, Taguig City, the MOU was signed by National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa -PhD, and Assistant Secretary Rosalinda P. Bautista of the Philsys Registry Office. SM Supermalls was represented by its President, Steven T. Tan and Senior Vice-President, Bein C. Mateo. Through the joint initiative of SM and PSA, all citizens and foreign permanent residents can now easily register for the official national identity card that can be used in both public and private transactions.
