Cirtek Holdings Philippines Corp. said Tuesday its US-based unit will ramp up production of 5G antennas on expected increase in demand from telecommunication companies.
Cirtek said in a statement Quintel USA Inc. was expecting demand for 5G antennas to grow not only from traditional telco companies but also from other industries.
“In Quintel, we see the converging trend of connectivity encompassing various sectors of industry outside traditional telcos and continue to lead innovation and product differentiation to allow an ever-increasingly connected world as 5G subscription is forecasted to grow from around 0.2 billion in 2020 to 3 billion in 2025 while the global number of connected devices is projected to increase to 43 billion in 2023, an approximated threefold increase from 2018,” Cirtek said.
“By 2025, the total amount of traffic carried on mobile networks will grow to 4,150 exabytes, and 58 percent is likely to come from 5G where Quintel is actively engaged in,” it said.
Cirtek said Quintel, which is a base station antenna and wireless solutions provider, has been supporting top tier carriers in North America for 5G complementary product introductions.
The products include 78 new antennas across 17 product families.
Cirtek said Quintel differentiates from the competition by empowering carriers with flexibility to maximize existing 4G networks while allowing the overlay of 5G services in parallel, avoiding costly legacy network overhauls as well as option to deploy pure 5G in new site builds, maintaining inter-operability between legacy and greenfield networks.
“These products are designed with Quintel customers in mind whether they are an existing telco or a new entrant, a winner of spectrum, be it an established or aspiring rural carrier, internet or cable company, gas, power and utilities or media and content providers as evidenced by an assortment of winning bidders of the newly minted 5G frequencies,” Cirtek said.
