City of San Fernando—Some P3.5 billion coming from the local and national government will be spent for the construction of the Philippine Sports Training Center in a 250,000 square-meters lot in Bagac, Bataan.
The provincial government has turned over the Deed of Donation to the Philippine Sports Commission during simple rites held there recently, thus paving the way for the construction of the project.
“Bataan will become a sports city and it will inspire the out-of-bschool-youth as it will provide a new home to national athletes asbnthey give pride and honor to the country,” PSC Chairperson William Ramirez said.
In his message, Bataan 2nd District Rep. Jose Enrique Garcia III said PSTC aims to help in the sports development of the country to have better chances of winning medals in the Olympics and other international competitions.
“We are glad that PSC chose Bataan to be the home of PSTC and we will do our best to be a good host to our athletes,” the legislator added.
For his part, Governor Albert Garcia said the construction of PSTC not only helps future athletes but it will also promote healthy lifestyle leading to longer life expectancy.
Construction of the state-of-the-art sports training center will commence soon and will be completed by December 2025. President Duterte signed into law Republic Act 11214 which gave birth to PSTC.
