Flag Day prep

Workers show a 5-by-10-foot Philippine flag worth P3,500 in front of the Atlas flag store in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Thursday. The nation celebrates May 28 as National Flag Day under Presidential Proclamation No. 374, to commemorate the date the national emblem was first unfurled after the Philippine Revolutionary Army defeated the Spanish forces in the Battle of Alapan in Imus, Cavite in 1898.
