Independent ideas agency GIGIL bagged a silver award in this year’s ADFEST, Asia’s most celebrated creative festival based in Bangkok, Thailand.
Its film for RC Cola entitled “Family” scored the award for the viral film subcategory of Film Lotus.
The online film (https://youtu.be/O8jp2dB5KUA), which tells the story of a boy who thinks he may be adopted because he has drinking glasses on his back, has been viewed 16 million times and has chalked up 222,000 shares.
It has been named the “Best Ad of the Philippines” for 2020 by adobo magazine, the advertising industry’s premier trade periodical.
The online short film has been featured in “The Ellen Show” of Ellen DeGeneres and in international publications such as Fast Company, Design Taxi, and Ad Age.
The controversial ad, which has created a social media explosion, has also been studied in MBA classes at the De La Salle University and the Asian Institute of Management.
The film resulted in a 67 percent spike in the sales of RC Cola Mega.
