Alvarez after elimination: ‘I’m Still Determined To Be Part Of ONE Championship’

Lara Pearl Alvarez’s stint in “The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition” might have come to an end, but she promises this won’t be the last time she’ll encounter ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

"I'll make sure that I'll work hard and I'll meet you again,” Alvarez said at the end of the third episode.

The 24-year-old, who was transferred to Team Valor for the episode, was given the pink slip over teammates Sho Takei and Clinton Tudor.

As tough as the call was for her, Alvarez is taking it in stride and using it as a fuel to keep moving forward.

"Right now, I am working to acquire the business skills that I fell short in during the competition," she said.

Alvarez got booted because of her confidence – or lack thereof – as there were many instances where she could have had her way but held back because of her personality.

Looking back, she wished she could have been more vocal in handling things.

"I could have been more confident with the skills I had. I should've insisted on my ideas when they weren’t heard, and perhaps, I should have also taken bigger roles," she said.

"My biggest learning from Chatri is that for someone who wants to make a difference, he or she should have an unbreakable spirit, that no matter what challenges he or she faces, or whatever other people say, he or she must never lose the determination and spirit he or she had at first.”

On the brighter side of things, Alvarez now goes home to her 10-month-old son after spending weeks chasing her dreams in Singapore on the show.

"I was excited to see my son and family because I miss them so much and I had been longing to hold my baby in my arms again."

Still, Alvarez isn’t content with just moral victories, as she promises to bounce back from this shortcoming and turn it into something big for her life.

"I am still determined to be a part of ONE Championship someday," she said. "The first thing that came to my mind when I got eliminated was that I will gain the skills I lacked and I'll be back. If I do my best in my chosen career path, one day I will be able to meet him again, and I will work for that day to happen."
