When five-time mixed martial arts champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman makes his ONE Championship debut against John Lineker, he wants to avenge the loss suffered by his Team Lakay teammate to the veteran fighter.
In his last fight in October last year, Lineker put away Loman’s stablemate Kevin Belingon via technical knockout in 1:16 of the second round.
With Belingon giving tons of advise during training, Loman believes that this will help get his confidence up during fight night.
“This will add to my motivation, kahit ganu’n. Kahit talo si Kuya Kevin, gusto ko rin ibawi ang kanyang pagkatalo,” added Loman.
The Team Lakay fighter takes on “The Heart of Stone” Lineker in one of the undercards of “ONE on TNT III” on April 21 in Singapore.
Lineker is known for unleashing a dangerous combination of body shots when a fighter gets close to him.
And this what the 29-year-old Loman needs to be wary of if he wants to get past Lineker.
If Loman hurdles the toughness of Lineker on his debut fight with the ONE Championship, he will get to know if he is at par with the best that the organization has in its stable.
“Talagang malakas at mabilis ang mga combinations niya sa head and body. Kailangang maiwasan,” said Loman.
Lineker has been in 42 fights, winning 33 and losing nine.
On the other hand, Loman has been undefeated in eight straight encounters and has won 13 and lost two.
Loman is coming off a 16-month layoff after disposing of Ilias Sanoudakis in Nov. 29, 2019, via unanimous decision during their Brave CF 30 showdown.
