The Taguig City government has released its list of priority groups for its COVID-19 vaccination drive that is in full effect with the city’s health workers now receiving their second doses. Mayor Lino Edgardo Cayetano signed Executive Order No. 10 that adopts the recommendation of the Taguig City Vaccination Task Force for the city’s vaccine rollout stipulated in Board Resolution No. 01 Series of 2021 signed on March 25.

Cayetano gave the assurance the approved priority list will be followed strictly in Taguig, noting that COVID-19 vaccination was key to ending the pandemic.

The local government commits to have vaccines available for its one million residents.

The city has been receiving its allocation of vaccines from the national government but it is also preparing a vaccine portfolio that would complement the same and ensure each resident receives free inoculation.

The city is also expecting to receive supplies of Novavax, IP Biotech, AstraZeneca, and Moderna.

Taguig is almost 90% done in vaccinating those in category A1 of the COVID-19 Vaccine Priority List — which include doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers from public and private COVID-19 referral hospitals in the city.

According to Mayor Cayetano, COVID-19 vaccination is key to ending the COVID-19 pandemic, and to getting the people’s lives back to normal.

“While we continue to build our portfolio of vaccines and wait for the upplies to arrive, we believe that the best vaccine to administer to our citizens is the vaccine that is available now,” he said.
