ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Niña Taduran flatly denied speculations that will seek the mayoralty position in Iriga City, Camarines Sur in the 2022 local election.
She said it has never crossed her mind to join local politics as she would rather seek a second term as party-list representative.
“Whatever happens in the next elections, I will continue to be of service to my fellowmen. If I won’t be given the chance to serve again as a party-list representative, I can always go back to the media, where I have been doing public service for many decades,” she said.
Talks about Taduran running as Iriga mayor surfaced when she led the ACT-CIS in putting up an action center in the city and helped in the distribution of cash assistance, face masks and other supplies as part of her continuing project for people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Actually, it is not only in Iriga that our projects are centered. We have similar projects in other areas in Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Benguet, Abra, Pangasinan, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Marinduque, Bohol, Cebu and Metro Manila. We reach out to whoever needs help,” Taduran said.
“(It’s) just work. We do not choose who to help,” she added.
