The vice mayor of Mabuhay town, Zamboang Sibugay was killed while two of his companions were injured after an armed assailant shot them multiple times near the municipal hall Friday afternoon.
Police said Vice Mayor Restituto Calonge was talking to Edgar Pampanga and Abduhari Gapor at around 3 p.m. when the suspect opened fire.

The gunman killed Calonge on the spot while the vice mayor’s companions were wounded and were rushed to a hospital.
The suspect fled on a motorcycle, the police said.
Several cartridges of a cal. 45 pistol were recovered from the crime scene.
