The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Thursday commended eight traffic enforcers for their services and honesty in the line of duty.
Chairman Benjamin Abalos Jr. awarded certificates of commendation to Traffic Enforcers Ernesto Bungay Jr., Junathan Salmingo and Charmaine Balmores when they surrendered a lost wallet and ATM cards to its owner in Quezon City on Jan. 4.
“We commend our traffic personnel for their exemplary and admirable character of truthfulness. Their act is worthy of emulation, “said Abalos.
Enforcers Mark Anthony Aguilar and Romero Owen were also recognized when they returned a lost wallet to its owner in Makati City on Jan. 24. All are assigned at the Central Traffic Enforcement District 1.
Meanwhile, MMDA Mobile Patrol Unit members Roel Bayaua, Marlon Natada and Eddie Rosal received certificates for assisting a family whose car tire went flat in EDSA-Munoz on Feb. 9.
“Their noble act and willingness to extend assistance to anyone in time of need are manifestations of their high sense of dedication to duty as agents of a person in authority and portrayal of being model public servants,” said Abalos.
Abalos said their good deeds were worthy of emulation and served as examples for other government employees.
He said the recognition would be part of their records and included in their recommendation for promotion.
