Sen. Cynthia Villar has expanded the coverage of the agri-crop production training conducted by the Villar Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance (SIPAG) to empower more farmers amid the pandemic.

The senator, who is the chairperson of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food, has been continuing her projects and programs that benefit farmers who belong to the “poorest of the poor.”

Last week, a three-day course was conducted at the Villar SIPAG Farm School in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. The  25 participants came from the provinces of  Pangasinan, Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac and Nueva Ecija.

The training of trainers program was conducted in coordination with the East West Seeds Foundation.

The participants, in turn, are expected to train farmers in their respective towns after graduating from the Villar Farm School.
