City of San Fernando—Anti-illegal drugs operatives seized about P700,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu during buy-bust operations in separate areas in Mexico, Pampanga and City of San Fernando over the weekend.
Police BGen. Valeriano De Leon, director of the Central Luzon PNP, said four suspected shabu traffickers were arrested during the drug sting operations at Barangay Lagundi, Mexico and in Bgy. Bulaon City of San Fernando.
De Leon identified the suspects as Jose Marwan Dayrit, of Bgy Tabun, Mabalacat City; Clairem Yalung, Reynaldo Banag and Patrick Garcia, all residence of Bgy. Bulaon, City of San Fernando.
Dayrit was the first to fall after he handed five sachets of shabu worth P374,000 to a poseur buyer. A caliber .38 revolver handgun was also found in his possession when subjected to further checks.
Follow-up operations led to the arrest of three others at Bgy. Bulaon in San Fernando where the suspects yielded P421,600 worth of shabu weighing about 62 grams.
Also seized from the suspects were two Samsung cellular phones, a weighing scale, unlicensed motorcycle, and dusted money used in the buy bust.
The suspects were brought to Pampanga Provincial Police Office (PPO) for further investigation as violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs are being readied against them.
Recently, four members of the Olongapo City Police Office (OCPO) were arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA3) after they were caught inside a residential unit along Kalayaan Housing, Subic Bay Freeport.
The residential unit was the subject of illegal drugs operations by the PDEA and 3rd Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (3CIDG) following reports on the presence of ‘kitchen-type’ laboratory.
The policemen were assigned to OCPO Station 2.
