Pampanga cop nabbed for pushing shabu

Angeles City—A neophyte cop who was on the radar of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for his alleged involvement in the illegal drugs trade was arrested during a sting at Barangay Malabanias here late Saturday evening.

PDEA3 director Christian Frivaldo identified the suspects as Patrolman Jerick Daro Franciso, 30, alias James, a member of the Philippine National Police detailed at Bataan Provincial Police Office Mobile Force; and Eileen Guinto Perez, 34, of San Antonio, Mexico, Pampanga.

Frivaldo said the suspect was arrested after he handed 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu to a poseur buyer during a meet-up along Don Jueco Avenue, Clark View here past 11 p.m.

Franciso, a native of Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan, is allegedly responsible for illegal drugs distribution in Mexico, Pampanga, and Angeles and Mabalacat cities, said Frivaldo.

“Patrolman Francisco has been on PDEA Pampanga’s radar since October 2020. His area of operation was Mexico, City of San Fernando, and Angeles City,” he said.

The entrapment yielded two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected as “shabu” weighing about 10 grams with a Dangerous Drugs Board value of 68,000.

PDEA operatives also seized a cellular phone, marked money used in the bust, the Glock 9 mm service pistol of the suspect, PNP identification card, and one Yamaha Mio sporty.

The suspects were brought to PDEA3 regional headquarters for further investigation as violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is being readied against them.
