Balanga City, Bataan—The Bataan Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) presided by Vice Governor Cris Garcia unanimously approved the province’s P3-billion budget for 2021.
In his message during the recent SP session, Governor Abet Garcia said the 2021 budget will prioritize the programs and projects of the provincial government of Bataan aligned to its vision of attaining the highest human development index in the country, report in 1Bataan website said.
“It means additional budget has been allocated for education, health, employment, livelihood, among others,” the governor said.
Gov. Garcia emphasized that a reasonable portion of the budget will go to the funding of health programs, operation of hospitals and similar facilities, and interventions with regards to preventive measures against COVID-19 and the recovery of the economy under the new normal.
He also assured continuous support to the agricultural sector, citing the contribution of farmers to the food stability and security in the province especially during the ongoing health crisis, report said.
New programs will be introduced to the agriculture sector in 2021 through modernization such as precision farming that would increase the competitiveness of local farmers, he added.
The governor also said the 2021 budget will further promote environmental protection and sustainability, infrastructure development, and tourism.
The governor lauded the provincial board led by Vice Gov. Garcia for working hard to serve people of the province through legislation.
The vice governor fully backs all the programs for development and services of the governor.
