PAL, AirAsia set to return to Bohol

Philippine Airlines and Air Asia Philippines announced the resumption of regular commercial flights between Manila and Tagbilaran City in Bohol province.

PAL said it would resume flights between Manila and Tagbilaran (Panglao, Bohol) beginning Nov. 22 with thrice weekly flights (every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday).

PAL said the restoration of Panglao flights was timely in view of the reopening of Bohol to domestic tourism. Domestic tourist travelers to Bohol are required to register at Bohol's website tourism.bohol.gov.ph. before their flights.

AirAsia Philippine will resumes flights from Manila to Bohol (TAG) on Dec. 1.

To celebrate Bohol’s reopening, AirAsia said it would offer 50-percent off on all flights from Manila to Bohol until Nov. 22.  The travel period is between Dec. 1 and Dec. 30.

 “We are pleased to be able to reopen our services to and from Bohol for both essential and leisure travelers. We hope that the resumption of connectivity between both regions will further assist local businesses and enterprises in Bohol. AirAsia will continue to support the national and local governments in their efforts to  jumpstart the travel and tourism industries in the Philippines,” AirAsia Philippines chief executive Ricky Isla said.

Travelers should take an RT-PCR test within 72 hours before departure from Manila. Once a negative test result is secured, they can register and get their QR codes via tourism.bohol.gov.ph. A confirmed booking at a DOH-accredited hotel in Bohol is also required.

The local government of Bohol will provide guided itineraries to travelers and will implement strict health protocols.

Travelers who will stay in Panglao, Bohol for more than five days will have to get another RT-PCR test from accredited service providers stationed in the island.
