IATF, CODE Team laud Caloocan for coronavirus management

The Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (CODE) Team of the National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 and the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) commended the Caloocan City Government for their response to the problem of COVID-19 in the city.

In a statement, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana praised the efforts of the local government to suppress COVID-19.

Also, Agriculture Secretary William Dar said that compared to his first visit, the number of positives recorded on COVID-19 in Caloocan City has dropped significantly in recent days.

Dar said the city has good strategies for zoning, isolation and even in finding ways to be more effective and efficient.

Officials who attended the meeting also expressed admiration for the proper implementation of the color-coded quarantine pass system to maintain physical distancing in populated areas and for the city government’s scheduled use of the quarantine band (qBand) for its innovative process for contact tracing.

Caloocan Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan thanked the national government for its support for Caloocan City’s continued fight against the pandemic.

The mayor also assured his close liaison with the barangay chiefs regarding the implementation of rules and programs against COVID-19.

Meanwhile, part of the program is the swearing in of barangay chiefs and city government officials as members of the Barangay Disiplina Brigade which is a program of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Health (DOH).

A ceremonial turnover of face mask donations, personal protective equipment (PPE), and hygiene kits in the city was also held.
