Jeepney drivers along Blumentritt corner Rizal Avenue seek help from passers-by and extend their 'begging bowls' fashioned out of plastic bottles, saying that the government has not acted on their request for financial assistance. They claim that the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board refuse to grant their plea for aid. They are banned from plying their routes since Metro Manila remains under the modified enhanced community quarantine to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease.
