In nearby Quiapo, police seized protest materials from a group of rallyists while a mass was going on at Quiapo Church, a few minutes before President Rodrigo Duterte’s 5th State of the Nation Address. Senator Risa Hontiveros, who was among those who attended the mass, sought an explanation from the Manila Police District. She said the placards were not used or raised during the mass. “I am hoping for feedback. They were not holding a rally inside the church,” Hontiveros said.
