Township developer Megaworld Corp. said it generated P3 billion in sales from its first upscale residential village in Trece Martires, Cavite as lot prices in the area continued to rise despite the pandemic.
Megaworld said in a statement the 18-hectare Arden Botanical Village was sold just almost seven months since its launch inside the 251-hectare Arden Botanical Estate.
The bulk of the sales were recorded during the second quarter at almost P1.4 billion covering 133 lots amid the nationwide community quarantine.
It said since starting to sell the project, it implemented two price increases, one in January and another in May, on strong demand from international and local property buyers searching for residential lots near Metro Manila.
From P23,000 per square meter in December last year, lot prices in the village soared to P31,000 per square meter in May this year, or 35 percent increase in less than a year.
“Amid the lockdown, we have booked sales from buyers in the Philippines and across the world who were looking for purposeful, more livable spaces to build a house,” said Eugene Em Lozano, first vice president for sales and marketing of Megaworld.
