Angeles City—Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. has ordered the purchase of computer tablets for use of 2,481 scholars at the City College of Angeles for online classes.

The city mayor said the Angeles City government will provide CCA students with tablets as part of the college's transition to the new normal educational system in this time of COVID-19 pandemic.

He also sought the support of internet service providers operating in the city to give free high-quality internet access to city scholars.

The tablets will be considered as government property and the students will have to borrow them from CCA's library and return them in good condition, Lazatin said.

He also said that the computer tablets are strictly for educational use and will be programmed for that purpose alone.

The city mayor has ensured that the education in the city is inclusive and no student will be left behind.

Earlier, Lazatin announced that the city government will provide 55,000 tablets to 53 public schools throughout the city for the use of Grades 4 to 12 students.

He allotted P150 million under the Special Education Fund surplus for the procurement of the computer tablets and an overcollection of P5 million SEF will be utilized for one-month free internet subscription for students.
