PLDT Inc. announced Wednesday a six-month installment payment program on outstanding monthly bills of postpaid subscribers amid the Luzon-wide lockdown

“We hope that through this payment program, we will help keep you connected whether you are at home, the office or elsewhere after the enhanced community quarantine period. As one community, we will get through these challenging times together,” PLDT chairman and chief executive Manuel Pangilinan said. The installment program will start on May 1.

Under the payment program, PLDT Home, Smart and Sun consumer postpaid subscribers can settle their unpaid balances as of April 30 in six equal monthly payments with zero percent interest and no penalties.

PLDT earlier donated more than 30 of its service vehicles to the Armed Forces of the Philippines for its use in anti-COVID-19 operations.

The vehicles include 14 Toyota Innova multi-purpose vehicles, 10 Toyota Avanza units, four Isuzu mini trucks and two Isuzu Crosswind crossover utility vehicles. Sixteen of the vehicles were delivered last week and the balance was scheduled for delivery this week.

It said that of the 30 vehicles, 17 were assigned to the AFP health services—specifically the Health Service Command, the Office of the Surgeon General and the Military Treatment Facilities of the Army, Navy and Air Force. These units are providing healthcare support for troops that are deployed in checkpoints in Metro Manila and other parts of the country.

The remaining 13 vehicles will be deployed to various senior offices such as the AFP Command Center, the Joint Task Force NCR, the Special Operations Command, AFP, the AFP Communications, Electronics and Information Systems Service and the AFP Civil Relations Service.Darwin G. Amojelar

PLDT and its wireless subsidiary were also providing communications support to the AFP and the Philippine National Police for their COVID operations.
