Subic Bay Freeport Zone – Subic Freeport officials yesterday, April 14, 2020, closed a road and a duty free shop here after learning that a lady medical worker, whose swab test later resulted in positive, violated protocol and went shopping there April 13, 2020. Her swab test result came out the following day.
In adherence to strict contact tracing procedure, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Chairman and Administrator Wilma T. Eisma also advised shoppers who visited the Royal Choices Duty Free Shop April 13, 2020 10:00am to April 14, 2020 3:00pm to “report to the nearest public health center for necessary declaration of monitoring protocols.”
Eisma said the closing of the shop for two days is also necessary in order to effect a thorough disinfection of the store and its immediate surroundings.
Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr., said this 36 year-old medical worker, is an Olongapo resident, is now in stable condition and is in isolation in a hospital in the province of Bataan.
She is one of the two new corona virus cases declared by the city yesterday April 14, 2020, bringing the total confirmed Covid-19 cases in Olongapo City to seven, with one recovery.
The second patient, according to Paulino, is a 55 year-old Filipino female, who was earlier listed as PUI after having difficulty in breathing, and was later admitted at the James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital on April 2, 2020. Paulino added the patient is also in stable condition.
Paulino said the city health office has already identified persons who were in close contact with the patient and ordered everyone of them, despite showing no symptoms of the disease, to undergo the necessary 14-day home quarantine.
