Auction for a cause

Chief Specialist Richie Lerma shows some of the paintings of widely acclaimed Filipino artist Justin Nuyda for sale at the recent Salcedo Auctions ‘Important Philippine Art’ in Makati City. Nuyda, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, made this artwork to raise funds for the Kythe Foundation, a non-profit working to improve quality of life of children suffering from cancer and chronic illnesses. Nuyda is one of the first batch of recipients of the Thirteen Artists Award by the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 1972, and is a founder of the Saturday Group of artists.
