The National Telecommunications Commission said it complied with the Anti Red-Tape Authority’s directive to issue a license to an affiliate of NOW Telecom.
The agency issued an order granting provisional authority to News and Entertainment Network Corp., a company owned by Velarde Inc., to install, operate and maintain a local multi-point distribution system to deliver pay television and multi-media services in South Luzon, North Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
NTC Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba said in a manifestation of compliance submitted to ARTA on Feb. 18 that the provisional authority was for the co-use of GHT Network Inc.’s 26.35 to 27.35 gigahertz frequency range as contained in an NTC order issued on Jan. 27.
Newsnet and GHT, although related parties, are juridical entities with corporate personalities separate and distinct from each other, including with respect to assets and property that they own, under the Corporation Code.
