Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya—Policewomen here recently handed gifts to children suffering from cerebral palsy at the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center in this town.

Police Major Myla Paguyo, president of the Nueva Vizcaya Women in the Police Service Organization, said the activity is part of the early Valentine’s Day gifts for the children.

“For a while, we left our guns, boots and badges to bring gifts and joy to the children with special needs, including their parents,” she said.

Paguyo said the gifts distributed to the recipients were contained in their wish lists which were earlier gathered by the group.

She said their activity was a way of showing their care and concern especially to the children with special needs.

“It is not about the gift we give, what is important is the relationship we build with the community and to erase the stigma that children fear their police,” Paguyo added.

NVWPSO is composed of 174 policewomen from the Police Provincial Office and the 15 Municipal Police Stations in the province.
