More Filipino adults said their quality of life declined over the past year, with 36% identifying as “losers,” compared with 29% who said it improved (gainers), according to a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
In the latest survey, results showed that 29% of Filipino adults reported a better quality of life compared to twelve months ago, whereas 34% said their quality of life remained unchanged.
Across major areas, Net Gainers were most pronounced in Mindanao, which recorded a high score of +2. This was followed by Balance Luzon at -7 (fair), Metro Manila at -12 (mediocre), and the Visayas at -14 (mediocre).
The SWS pointed out a 5-point decrease in the nationwide Net Gainers score from September 2025 to November 2025.
This decline was attributed to reductions in the Visayas, Metro Manila, and Balance Luzon, while Mindanao’s score remained steady.
Additionally, when comparing areas, Net Gainers fell from high to fair in rural regions, down 4 points from +1 to -3. In urban areas, the score dropped from fair to mediocre, declining by 5 points from -5.
The SWS also revealed Net Gainers decreased across all age groups except for those aged 18-24. The trend shows that Net Gainers decline with age.
As of November 2025, the highest Net Gainers were among the 18-24 age group at an excellent score of +31, followed by the 25-34 age group at +2 (high), the 35-44 age group at -7 (fair), the 45-54 age group at -12 (mediocre), and those aged 55 and older at -21 (low).
Notably, compared to September 2025, the Net Gainers among 18-24-year-olds remained excellent, increasing by 8 points from +23.
The nationwide face-to-face survey was conducted from November 24 to 30, with 1,200 respondents aged 18 and older, and has a margin of error of ±3% for national percentages.
