STA. Cruz, Laguna police chief Lt. Col. Jojo Sabeniano has received multiple awards including a Gawad Pilipino trophy for exemplary service, leadership, and unwavering dedication to public service.
Sabeniano, concurrent spokesman of the Laguna provincial police force, said the recognitions were the result of continuous hard work, integrity, and commitment to the community.
He emphasized that achievements of an outstanding police officer are rooted in selfless service and genuine concern for the people, adding that the commendations belonged not only to him but also to the entire police force who consistently serve with professionalism and honor.
Among the awards conferred on him during the Gawad Pilipino Lingkod Bayan Awards 2024 consisted of the Lingkod Bayan Awards and Outstanding Uniformed Personnel of the Philippines, held on November 19, 2024, at the AFP Commissioned Officers Club House in Camp Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
The event honored public servants who demonstrated excellence and compassion despite the many challenges of public service.
On June 12 last year, Sabeniano also copped the Gawad Pilipino 2024 – Huwarang Malaya sa Pagtatanggol sa Bayan Award during a ceremony at Eurotel Hotel, Quezon City, as part of the celebration of the 126th Philippine Independence Day.
The awarding ceremony paid tribute to individuals who made exceptional contributions to upholding national dignity, prosperity, and freedom, under the theme “Pilipino ako, taas noo kahit kanino.”
In addition, he was conferred a Certificate of Recognition under the Gawad Dangal ng Bayan Awards 2025 on December 27, 2025, again at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo.
This recognition is given to individuals who exceed expectations, embody excellence, and demonstrate integrity and selfless service to the nation.
Sta. Cruz Mayor Benjo Agarao lauded Sabeniano for the honors he received, saying his achievements reflected the strong partnership between the local government and the police force in maintaining peace and order.
“We take pride in the recognition given to our Chief of Police. This award is an honor for the entire municipality,” the mayor said.
The series of accolades bestowed upon Sabeniano was deemed as a testament to his steadfast leadership and dedication to public safety—serving as an inspiration to fellow law enforcers and a reminder that sincere and committed service continues to strengthen peace and order in the country.
