Clark Development Corp. and the Department of Labor and Employment will host a job fair Jan. 9 to assist workers displaced by the closure of Charter Link Clark Inc.
The event aims to provide immediate employment opportunities within the Clark Freeport Zone and surrounding areas. This initiative follows the closure of the firm, which has already begun settling financial obligations with its workforce. According to a Dec. 22 report from the DOLE Clark Satellite Office, the payment process was systematic, with 399 out of 477 affected employees receiving their full monetary claims. The remaining workers, currently residing in various provinces, are expected to claim their benefits in 2026.
DOLE regional director Geraldine Panlilio confirmed that the agency has activated a Quick Response Team to profile the displaced staff. This team will identify necessary interventions ranging from direct job placement to specialized livelihood programs. Panlilio said the partnership with CDC is central to ensuring these workers secure new positions as quickly as possible.
CDC president and chief executive Agnes VST Devanadera said that while the corporation respects the internal management decisions of its locators, transparency remains a priority for the stability of the Clark community. Devanadera said CDC is collaborating with multiple agencies to maintain access to sustainable livelihood programs for those affected by the shutdown.
The upcoming fair will feature various locators and regional employers. CDC officials advised interested applicants to monitor official social media channels for venue details and a list of participating companies.
