JGFP, NGAP renew alliance for junior golf

Amid the growing popularity of golf not only in the Philippines but around the world, the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP) and the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) have reaffirmed their commitment to unite in developing the sport.

The renewed partnership was strengthened during a Christmas lunch meeting at The Podium attended by JGFP godfather Cong. Mikey Arroyo, JGFP president, Oliver Gan, and NGAP secretary-general Bones Floro.

The collaboration is expected to bring significant benefits to the junior golf community, as both organizations outlined plans and programs for the 2026 season.

“NGAP and JGFP share a mutual commitment to supporting each other. Our lunch meeting a day before Christmas simply reinforced that continuing partnership,” Arroyo told The Perfect Drive.

Gan echoed the sentiment, highlighting the broader impact of the alliance. “We discussed ways to help Philippine golf in general and to continue developing the game, especially at the junior level,” he said.

Floro, meanwhile, expressed NGAP’s appreciation for JGFP’s initiatives. “They have been organizing more local and international tournaments, which supports our goal of decentralizing competitions and events beyond Manila,” he noted.

“Thank you to JGFP, Cong. Mikey, and Oliver Gan for growing the game with us,” Floro added.
