ABS-CBN News will air a year-end special revisiting the most talked-about and controversial stories that shaped the national conversation in 2025, including flood control projects flagged for irregularities, the midterm elections, and disasters that hit the country.
Titled Sa Likod ng Balita 2025, the program features Kapamilya journalists, led by Karen Davilla, recounting their firsthand coverage of major headlines, from investigations into alleged corruption in flood control initiatives to developments in governance, politics, calamities, and elections. The special airs Sunday, Dec. 28.
Political developments figure prominently in the recap, including the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte and impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte. The events highlighted divisions within the government, as the Supreme Court voided the impeachment filing while the International Criminal Court rejected the former president’s request for interim release.
The program also revisits a series of calamities that tested communities across the country, including strong typhoons and earthquakes that struck Central Visayas and Davao Oriental.
