DPWH bares EDSA rehab and repair work schedule

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has announced a schedule for repair work along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) from December 28, 2025, to January 5, 2026, as part of ongoing rehabilitation efforts for the major roadway.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, December 24, the DPWH–National Capital Region detailed round-the-clock repair works that will continue until 5 a.m. on January 5.

The works include concrete reblocking on several sections of EDSA, covering southbound lanes from EDSA corner Taft Avenue to F.B. Harrison, near Home Depot to P. Celle Street, and along the Ayala Underpass exit to San Lorenzo Village.

Northbound reblocking will cover areas from Roxas Boulevard near the Heritage Hotel to Sgt. Mariano, Park Avenue to EDSA-Orense, and select portions from Orense to Shell McKinley.

Asphalt overlay works are also scheduled on various northbound and southbound sections of EDSA between Tramo, E. Rodriguez, Kalayaan Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, F.B. Harrison, Ayala Underpass, and Urdaneta Subdivision on specified dates during the rehabilitation period.

The DPWH advised motorists to take alternative routes in areas undergoing repairs.

After several postponements, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon earlier announced that the rehabilitation project will now cost P6 billion, significantly lower than the initial P17-billion budget.

On December 18, during a press conference with the Department of Transportation and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Dizon assured the public that there would be minimal disruption to traffic.
