Ellen Adarna is setting clear boundaries for herself as she moves forward from a turbulent year, telling followers she is intentionally stepping away from dating and romantic pursuits.
During a late-night Instagram Stories Q&A on Dec. 24, the actress responded to a question about a supposed future partner by sharing a personal decision.
“I committed to five years of celibacy, renewable every five years… will focus on my babies,” she wrote, adding that the commitment is longer than her marriage.
Adarna said the choice is deliberate and rooted in self-care. “Wait until the dust settles,” she said, explaining that the decision is about recovery rather than fear. “This isn’t about fear, it’s about healing my nervous system.”
She later summed up her current mindset plainly, “I’m choosing regulation over rushing.”
In the same Q&A, Adarna shared holiday plans involving her children, saying her son Elias would spend Christmas with John Lloyd Cruz, while her daughter Liana traveled to England with Derek Ramsay’s family, a decision she described as one of compassion and peace of mind.
The actress went public about her separation from Ramsay in November, citing alleged infidelity. Reflecting on recent events, she offered simple advice. “Learn from me. Do not rush.”
