Vice Ganda says surrogacy plans are on hold as work commitments take priority

Vice Ganda has shared that starting a family with partner Ion Perez remains part of their plans, but timing and health are getting in the way for now.

In an interview with Karen Davila, the Call Me Mother star said they have already consulted a doctor about having a baby through surrogacy.

“Gusto talaga namin [to have a child]. Nag-consult na ako sa doctor. Pinaplano na nga,” Vice said, adding that she would undergo the medical process herself.

The plan, however, requires her to take a three-month break to rest and manage stress, something her doctor advised to ensure optimal health.

“Kung stress daw ako, hindi raw healthy ’yung sperm,” Vice explained.

That pause is currently difficult to schedule. Vice said stepping away from It’s Showtime, where she serves as both host and key figure behind the scenes, is not feasible at the moment.

“Hindi dahil sa ’yung kita ko mawawala… parang what will happen to Showtime if I am not there for three months?” she said.

Vice admitted she finds it hard to detach from the show and its people, but said the possibility of surrogacy remains open as she looks for ways to manage her responsibilities during an eventual break.
